Lamplighter uses the instructor's existing Canvas session to read authorized course records. It does not require a Canvas API token or Canvas administrator account. Browser management and institutional policy may still require approval.
The extension requests activeTab, storage and scripting, with optional site permission. After an instructor grants a host, the extension registers to run on later pages at that host. A local activity badge may fetch enrollment records before a report is opened.
Report records are processed locally. Licence checks and optional purchaser-linked usage go to lamplighter.cc. The current extension stores some student and course identifiers locally. The privacy page lists fields, providers and current limits.
A Chrome Web Store listing and a coordinator rollout kit are in preparation. Managed deployment may be possible under your browser policies; it has not been validated as a Lamplighter rollout workflow.
Table markup, text alternatives and selected contrast checks are in place. A complete keyboard and screen-reader evaluation is still pending. An Accessibility Conformance Report is being prepared and is not yet available as a conformance claim. Contact us about your requirements before rollout.
Planned Team access covers up to 20 instructors at $600/year. Institution access is quoted at $3,000–$15,000/year for one college or university, informed by annual student FTES and agreed scope. Activation work is pending. Prices and terms.
Institutional purchase does not provide a faculty activity dashboard or student records to supervisors. The proposed RSI Helper will support instructional planning and documentation; it will not certify compliance.
